Why Some Printed Cases Come Out Crisp (and Others Blurry)
Print sharpness is decided by the image, not the printer. A large, high-resolution, in-focus original prints crisp; a small, compressed, or screenshotted one prints soft. If it looks soft on screen, it'll look softer on a case.
Ever wonder why one custom case looks stunning and another comes out soft? Most of the time it isn't the printing — it's the image that went in. (If you're still choosing a photo, start with how to pick the perfect photo; this guide explains why some prints turn out blurry.)
1. Resolution vs print size
Printing needs far more detail than a screen. A large, high-resolution photo has the pixels to stay sharp when it's enlarged onto a case; a small one gets stretched and turns fuzzy. Bigger original = more headroom.
2. Compression from apps and re-saves
Every time a photo is sent through a chat app or saved and re-saved, it can lose data. Images from WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, or WeChat — and screenshots of photos — are often already compressed. Use the original file whenever you can.
3. Zoom, crop, and enlargement
Cropping in tight or zooming into part of a photo throws away pixels, so what's left has to be enlarged more — which softens it. Frame a little wider and let us fit it to the case.
4. Focus and low light
No printer can add detail a blurry or dim photo never captured. Slightly out-of-focus shots and dark, noisy low-light photos both reproduce poorly.
5. Screen vs print colour
Screens are backlit and can look more vivid than print. Colours may appear a touch different on a physical case than on your glowing phone display — that's normal, not a defect.
